Coveted award is S.P. Richards’s highest supplier honor


HASTINGS, Minn. (April 9, 2010) — Smead®, a leading provider of filing and organizational products, announced today they have received the prestigious Heritage Award from office products wholesaler S. P. Richards Company. The award was presented during the S.P. Richards Vendor Summit held March 30 in Orlando, Florida.

Rick Toppin, President and Chief Operating Officer of S.P. Richards presented the award to Sharon Avent, President and CEO of Smead. "It’s my pleasure to present this year’s S.P. Richards Heritage Award to a company with a rich history as a global leader in the office products industry," said Toppin. "This remarkable history of Smead resulted in the growth of a woman-owned company that has become well-known for its high quality, environmentally responsible products and innovative organizational systems."

According to Steve Lynn, Sr. Vice President of Merchandising at S.P. Richards, "We began the S. P. Richards Heritage Award several years ago because we wanted a way to honor those of our suppliers that share many of the values and traditions that are so important to S. P. Richards Company. The decision surrounding our Heritage Award is always a very difficult one, with a great deal of thought and discussion being applied.
