SMEAD NAMED VENDOR OF THE YEAR honors Smead for fourth consecutive year


HASTINGS, Minn. (June 4, 2009) — Smead®, a leading provider of filing and organizational products, announced today they have received both the Vendor of the Year and Vendor of the Year for Regional Distribution Centers (RDC) awards for the fourth year in a row. The awards were presented during’s annual meeting, held May 26-30 in Indianapolis.

Smead was presented with the awards by representatives Mike Gentile, President, Mike Foster, Director of Merchandising, and Chris Warren, Director of Procurement. Vendors are judged on a variety of criteria, including: superior service levels, on-time delivery, order fill percentages, order turn around proficiency, electronic ordering processes and superior packaging and bar coding. “Smead consistently outperforms all other suppliers,” said Warren.

Accepting the awards on behalf of Smead was Tom Downs, National Account Manager. Downs said, “We are honored to receive both of these awards, particularly for the fourth year in a row!
