Paper organizing

Hello,
I found this site by happy accident.  Glad that I did.  Unemployed and at home at the moment.  Trying to keep busy doing everything else but organizing this mess. Help!!!  I am trying to keep track of what seems like a ton of paper.  Also, not sure how long to keep some papers which may be important.  There's the incoming and ougoing mail, coupons, appointments on 2 calendars that have to coincide(one for home and the other in my purse), telephone messages, receipts and recipes that I have clipped.  Please help!!  It is taking over my small work area.  I have some piled on my printer and have to move it everytime I have to print/copy/fax something.

Hi Norma,

You're not alone. So many people have the same challenges.

I like to sort paper, coupons, etc. as follows:

1. Toss

2. Shred

3. File

4. To Do

5. To Use

Follow up as necessary!

Great advice!  Now all I have to do is make time to do it!  I really am going to utilize the record retention information I got on signin.  I have been looking for help with what to keep and what not to for a really long time.  Now I have it!  YAY!!!  Thanks!

I'm garateful for the site.  I need help.  My husband went to be with the Lord  December 1, 2007.  The clutter was in the home.  Shame and God's forgiveness. Thanks for the help.  Mrs. Pleasure
