SMEAD HONORED AS NAPO’S ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE YEAR
Recognized for contributions to the profession of organizing
HASTINGS, Minn. (May 8, 2007) — Smead (www.smead.com), a leading provider of filing and organizational products, announced today that it has been recognized by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) with the Associate Member of the Year Award. The honor is presented to an Associate Member who has made a significant contribution to NAPO and the profession of organizing. The award was accepted by Sharon Avent, Smead’s President and CEO, at NAPO’s Annual Conference held April 26-28 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The award was presented by Barry Izsak, president of NAPO. “Some industry partners show their support behind the scenes, and others out in front,” said Izsak. “Smead does both. They have donated product to organizers working with charitable groups, and at the same time provided sponsorship to national and local NAPO Conference and Expo events.”
Upon receiving the award, Avent remarked, “We are honored to receive this award in recognition for our efforts in building strong relationships with NAPO and its member organizers. We look forward to building on that relationship in years to come.”
This is the first time Smead has received the Associate Member of the Year Award. Smead has received NAPO’s Organizer’s Choice Award for Best Product on two previous occasions: once in 2006 for its M.O., Inc.®-branded line of high-style organizational products and once in 2003 for its Viewables® Color Labeling System.
The National Association of Professional Organizers is the premier association dedicated to the field of organizing. Formed in 1985 as a not-for-profit professional association, NAPO is dedicated to serving its thousands of members through education, networking, industry resources and promoting the profession to the public. NAPO’s mission is to develop, lead and promote professional organizers and the organizing industry.
