SMEAD ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF CASEY AVENT TO VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES
Tom Sullivan retires after 38 years
HASTINGS, Minn. (July 24, 2013) — Today Smead Manufacturing announced the promotion of Casey Avent to Vice President of Sales, replacing Tom Sullivan who announced his planned retirement from Smead earlier this month. In this position, Casey will report to David Fasbender, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and lead the sales function for Smead working closely with our staff and customers to continue the strong legacy of innovation and responsiveness.
In making this announcement Sharon Avent, President & CEO of Smead commented, "We are excited for the opportunities ahead for Casey and look forward to him taking on this new challenge. Casey joined Smead in 1996 after graduating from the University of Arkansas and has held a variety of positions in sales, marketing and supply chain. Most recently, he was National Account Manager for the company’s S&W Manufacturing subsidiary in Florence, South Carolina. Casey and his family are expected to relocate to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area sometime in 2014 following the school year. Until that time, he will be commuting from Florence to visit our customers and to fulfill his responsibilities at corporate headquarters in Hastings.
